Who?

Las Vegas by Locals is run by me, Annette and my husband, Michael. Originally from Long Island, New York we’ve been living, working, playing, partying, and raising a family in Las Vegas since 1996 and we love it here. Mike and I have been in and around the restaurant and hospitality business since we were kids and have been employed by major hotel and casino properties here in Las Vegas.

What?

Las Vegas by Locals is a website put together by people who LIVE Las Vegas. Mike and I know good food, good service, and good wine. It’s what we do, who we are and how we’ve been raised. We’ve gone to some of the most famous museums in the world in New York, dined at world class restaurants, enjoyed countless Broadway shows and have a real appreciation for the arts. I don’t think that makes us experts, but I do think it qualifies us to make educated opinions and recommendations on our website. Our circle of friends include Chefs, Servers, Restaurant Managers, Bartenders, Cooks, and Sommeliers who live in Vegas but are from different parts of the U.S. and around the world. If we aren’t familiar with a particular type of cuisine, or wine, we know who we can get reliable information from.

Why?

From the time we moved here from New York, Mike and I are always searching for new things to do, shows to see, and places to party. When I find a great show or a new restaurant that I think is outstanding, I feel this obligation to tell everyone I know. I’m just a people kind of person. So, having this website just let’s me do what I always do anyway, but on a larger scale. There is soooo much to do and see in Las Vegas! I also thought it would be fun to share some “industry” stories. It doesn’t matter what business you’re in; if you work with the public every day, there’s going to be a funny story.
