Casa di Amore is a restaurant that has the kind of old school Las Vegas charm that locals and visitors want to soak up like a hungry man mops up the last bit of sauce with a hunk of bread.
Casa di Amore Italian American Restaurant
This is the kind of non-chain gem of a restaurant that I search for. It’s got plenty of unpretentious atmosphere; plain wood floors, simple table and chairs, some comfy booths and lots of vintage black and whites of the great ones adorn the walls. The menu is moderately priced (entrees from $24 to $35) and crammed with classic Italian favorites like Chicken Parmigiana, Lasagne, Osso Bucco, Chicken Piccata, Gnocchi, Veal Francaise and on and on. Delicious. When you are dining at Casa di Amore you picture Mama in the kitchen, standing over the stove with a big wooden spoon. It’s real old school family Italian that makes it feel like home; very Little Italy.
Live Music & a Limo
There is live music every night at Casa di Amore. It makes an already perfect setting even more enjoyable. George Bugatti, a very talented performer who has appeared with Tony Bennet and been on TV, croons with a rich silky voice that does justice to classic songs by Sammy, Frank and Dino; real vintage Vegas. Make a request. George would love to sing it for you.
Arrive in style! When you call and make a reservation ask about the FREE limo service that will pick you up from your hotel and deliver you to Casa di Amore like a member of the Rat Pack.
Our Meal
We shared Mussels Marinara, fresh mussels steamed open in a rich marinara sauce and the Insalata Di Amore, mixed greens, buffalo mozzarella, tomatoes and balsamic vinaigrette. Both were very tasty. We shared a pasta dish, Gnocchi Alla Prosciutto, homemade gnocchis with prosciutto, white wine, spinach and a four cheese sauce. Absolutely fabulous! For the main course my husband chose Chicken Valdostana, sautéed chicken breast with mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts topped with provolone cheese in a pink cream sauce accompanied with fresh vegetables and a twice baked potato. I had one of the special dishes featured that night, a Surf & Turf. It was an 8 ounce Filet Mignon with four shrimp done with a white wine basil garlic butter sauce and accompanied with sautéed spinach and Italian style potatoes. Simply delightful. You’ve got to have the garlic loaf. It’s practically a meal on its own. For dessert we had the Canoli, perfectly rich and creamy with a nice crisp shell and the Chocolate Truffle, a chocolate gelato with a zabaione center, carmelized hazelnuts and topped with cocoa powder. Loved them both!!
Service
The service was wonderful. Our server Michael treated us like a new relative that’s joined the family. He walked us through the very extensive menu and pointed out the signature dishes, described the specials and answered any questions. Michael was observant and attentive. He made sure we were happy with our selections, refilled water glasses and poured our wine.
Free T-shirt
I just love a good sense of humor. If you order a Canoli for dessert at Casa di Amore you get a free souvenir t-shirt. The front has the Casa di Amore Las Vegas logo and on the back it has those immortal words of wisdom from the movie The Godfather, “Leave the gun. Take the canoli.” How can anyone resist this place? Mangia!
