Cinco De Mayo on the Las Vegas Strip and Around Town 2012

You’ve had plenty of time to recover from your St. Patty’s Day hangover and now it’s time to figure out where to party in Las Vegas on Cinco De Mayo!

FOR THIS YEAR’S EVENTS GO HERE.

Rockhouse Bar & Nightclub

This is a case of good news, bad news and good news again. Located in front of the Imperial Palace the Rockhouse is one of the best places to party on the Strip anytime but it’s going to be out of control on May 5th. The Rockhouse will be closing after an all night Cinco de Mayo party. The good news is that starting at 10pm they’ll be doing a drink countdown with drinks starting at $6 and then going down a dollar each hour until 4am……and then it’s all drinks on the house! The other good news is that this is a temporary closing to make way for the Linq project. A $500 million development featuring a 550 foot tall observation ferris wheel along with restaurants, shops and a new location for Rockhouse, the best dive bar in Las Vegas. It’ll be completed sometime in 2013.

 M Resort Spa & Casino – May 5, 2012

The M Resort is hosting one of the biggest Cinco de Mayo parties in town on Saturday May 5, 2012 starting at 6pm at the M Pavilion. Enjoy drink specials, you’ve got to have some tequila, and delicious Fiesta food from the food truck court. Test your moves on the floor to the beat of Latin soul performed by Toto Zara and watch as authentic folklorico dancers from the Mexico Vivo Dance Company show you some steps. There will be gaming action in the Party Pit and later on (10pm) enjoy one of Las Vegas’ favorite bands; Zowie Bowie. Buy admission tickets now for $10 plus taxes through May 4, 2012. Admission will be $15 on May 5, 2012. Must be 21 and older.

 Lee’s Beer & Tequila Experience

The 6th Annual Lee’s Discount Liquor Beer & Tequila Experience is at the LVH (formerly known as the Las Vegas Hilton) on Saturday, May 5th from 3pm – 8pm and is a great way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. You’ll be able to sample over 300 handcrafted beers and some of the finest tequilas. Tickets are $50 in advance, and $60 at the door. If you search online you might get lucky and find a 2 for 1 deal.

More Cinco de Mayo Fun – LVH

The Las Vegas Hotel is taking Cinco De Mayo to a whole new level and turing it into a whole weekend of fun! Not only is LVH the location for the Lee’s annual Beer & Tequila Experience on Saturday, they are hosting a don’t miss celebration on Sunday, May 6th; the Univision Radio Cinco de Mayo Fiesta and Concert in the Paradise Event Center from 11am – 8pm. FREE MEXICAN BEER  AND MARGARITAS, drink specials, authentic Mexican food, live music and lots of fun games and fiesta activities. Tickets are only $10 at the door. Get a room and don’t worry about driving. Check out Friday Night Old School by the Pool and make it a three day weekend!!

Senor Frogs – Treasure Island

Good grief. It seems like we’ve been waiting forever for the opening of Senor Frogs!!! Well it’s finally going to happen on Cinco De Mayo!!! It should be a mad house.

Coconuts Beach Bar & Mexican Grill

The party will be at Coconuts Beach Bar & Mexican Grill this Cinco de Mayo as the restaurant hosts festivities filled with contests, prizes and more. The party, hosted by Johnny Tsunami, gets started at 5 p.m. and features live mariachis, piñata smashing every hour, dancing, sombrero tossing, a four-foot burrito challenge, a gummy worm eating contest and Miss Cinco de Mayo. Plus, learn how to make Grandma’s Guacamole from the secret recipe. Food and drink specials take place from noon to 8 p.m.

Drink & Drag – Fremont St. Downtown

Cinco De Mayo is just around the corner and you guys are thinking, “Where can I go dressed like a woman, drink, party, play some games and feel right at home?” The answer of course is Drink & Drag opening May 5th; the newest addition to the Downtown scene. Taking the place of Jillians in Neonopolis, it’ll be the first bar and gaming venue to be staffed by drag queens. Play air hockey, billiards or go bowling (tough in heels). Interactive gaming chairs and table-top board games are there for your entertainment as well. I just love this crazy idea. It’s soooo Vegas! Don’t be a big homophobe! Just go and have fun.

Get Laid on Cinco De Mayo! oops, I meant Lei’d.

Lei Day is back for the 15th year in Vegas at the California Hotel parking lot on Stewart and Main  May 5th & 6th. If you’ve had your fill of Mexican (impossible) try a little sweetness from the islands. Go here for details. Aloha my friends.
