It’s that wonderful time of year again when the temperature is going up and locals are looking for a great get-away from Las Vegas. The Shakespeare Festival in Utah is the perfect retreat.

The Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City, Utah is just a few hours drive from Las Vegas and is whole lot more than actors performing classic Shakespeare. It’s an EXPERIENCE. Go online and include some of the many activities offered into your itinerary. Backstage Tours, Repertory Magic, Literary Seminars and production seminars are available. What? You’re not into Shakespeare!! No worries. They also perform some classics such as To Kill a Mockingbird. You’ll have a memorable time that may turn into an annual trek.

Lodging can be found close to the park and ranges from the simple accommodations of a Motel 6 to the more luxurious AAA, 3 Diamond status. There are Bed & Breakfasts if you prefer the homey atmosphere of a vintage house. All the info you need is on the Shakespeare Festival website wwwbard.org.

There are two main theaters. The Adams Shakespearean Theater, modeled after Shakespeare’s Globe Theater which is an outdoor venue or the Randall L. Jones Theater which is enclosed. Prepare accordingly. Utah is several degrees cooler than Las Vegas. An umbrella, a jacket and even sunscreen may be a good idea to bring along. Rain or shine it’ll be a fabulous experience!

Ticket are reasonably priced from $22 up to $71 depending on what play you choose and what seating you select.
