A Locals Guide to Las Vegas- Harry’s Bistro

Harry’s

A locals guide to Las Vegas will sometimes take you to a place that is not actually in Las Vegas. Harry’s is a small Italian bistro at Lake Las Vegas in the Monte Lago Casino which is really Henderson. Go figure. It has a small bar, friendly bartenders and wait staff and surprisingly fabulous food despite its humble appearance. As the saying goes, “Don’t judge the taste of the food by the fact that the menu is on a clip board.” Yeah, it really was. Harry’s is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Truth be told, we probably wouldn’t have gone to eat there if we hadn’t received coupons for it upon check-in at the Ravella Hotel & Resort (read about our stay) at Lake Las Vegas. We had a buy 1 get 1 free offer for a Peach Bellini, which is one of my favs and we didn’t have lunch plans so we thought what the heck, let’s check it out and we were WOWED by the food.

Salads, Sandwiches, Breakfast: WOW

I had the Summer Salad, a mix of fresh spinach, romaine, strawberries, blueberries, pecans, red onion, and grilled chicken tossed with a poppy seed dressing. The chicken was super fresh as were all the ingredients. What I liked best is that it wasn’t drowned in an overly sweet dressing and that the pecans weren’t sugared, just plain pecan halves. It was a perfect balance of flavors. My Peach Belini paired well with the salad. The hubbie had the Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich made with freshly prepared chicken breasts, a delicious marinara sauce and melted Provel cheese on fresh Italian bread. Excellent. During our stay we also tried the Prosciutto Di Parma with fresh melon, a juicy Angus Burger, the “Italian Toast” (like French Toast, only better), and a traditional American breakfast. Everything was fantastic.
