It’s November in Las Vegas and many upcoming events are focused on the holidays.  It’s a great time of year!

First Friday – Downtown Arts Festival – 11/1/13first friday

Love music? art? dance? Experience First Friday in Las Vegas. It’s unlike anything else in town.

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts

This is Las Vegas’ mini Lincoln Center, so to speak. It is an outstanding venue for Jazz, Broadway shows, concerts and home to the Leid Discovery Children’s Museum.  The Smith Center is the best place in Vegas to see quality performances at reasonable prices. For more about the Smith Center read here.  Be sure and see the Nevada Ballet Theatre’s Swan Lake/ Sleeping Beauty on Nov 1, 2013. It’s beautiful.

images-6Desert Hops – Sat, 11/9/13

Check out this international beer experience with brews from 25 countries featuring 150 beers. The event will be at the always fabulous Cosmopolitan at the Boulevard Pool from 3pm – 7pm. Bottoms up!

Lee’s 11th Annual Wine Experience – Sat, 11/9/13

It’s wine time at Lee’s again, so fill your glass and make a toast to one of the best beverages on earth……wine. Held at the LVH from 3pm – 8pm. There will be a silent auction, lots of various wines to sample and you’ll be helping out a worthy charity as well. I’ll drink to that!

Vegas StrEATs – Sat, 11/9/13

Taking place the second Saturday of each month the Vegas StrEATs event is a treat for the tummy and the ears. Enjoy the best “meals on wheels” in the valley just outside the El Cortez Hotel & Casino in Downtown Las Vegas. Food trucks meet here to bring you some of the most creative and delicious food ever to come from a rolling kitchen. Discover some of the best local musical talent while you munch away.

Henderson Pavilion

In our sister city of Henderson you’ll find many concerts and shows at this wonderful outdoor venue at wallet friendly prices.

Glittering Lights – Fri, 11/15/13christmas lights

This Christmas light display is at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and runs Nov 15 – Jan 6, 2014. It’s a 2.5 mile drive through course of over 400 animated displays. It will also have Santa’s Village, a heated snow castle tent and free photo ops with some of the Christmas characters. Open every night at 5:30pm – 9pm Sun – Thurs and until 10pm Fri and Sat. Admission is $15 per vehicle $20 on Fri – Sun and portion of that is donated to the Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities.

Vintage Bike Night – Fri, 11/15/13

Presented by Dynotech come out and see classic motorcycles, cafe racers, harleys, custom bikes, scooters, art, live body painting and music all converge on the third Friday of every month at the BarBistro.

Food Truck Festival – Sat, 11/16/13

Come out to the newly improved Sunset Park with friends and family and fill your faces with the best meals on wheels. The Food Truck Festival will have live music, classic cars, over 30 food trucks and is going to be a great event. Don’t miss out!

Wonderground – Thurs, 11/21/13

This monthly magical event takes place at The Olive, a Mediterranean restaurant and hookah lounge, on the third Thursday of each month and is one of the best kept secrets for great entertainment in Las Vegas and at very small price. The entertainment is headlined by Jeff McBride, a world-class magician who also teaches his craft. The entertainment isn’t limited to magic; you’ll also see belly dancers, musicians, comedians, jugglers and more.

magical forestThe Magical Forest at Opportunity Village – Fri, 11/22/13

Opportunity Village is a not-for-profit organization that helps to enhance the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and they do an incredible job. This is a wonderful way to enjoy the holidays and give to a very worthwhile charity. Take a stroll through the Magical Forest and be delighted at all the displays . Take a ride on the mini train Forest Express or the Enchanted Carousel. Warm up with a hot chocolate and grab a bite from one of the vendors and don’t forget to check out my favorite display……..the Ginger Bread Houses! (most are donated by top chefs from the hotels and are super creative and fun) The festivities will begin Nov 22 – Jan 6, 2014. Sun – Thurs 5:30pm – 9:00pm   Fri & Sat 5:30pm – 10:00pm Check website for ticket prices.
