The Verandah Las Vegas

Breakfast time, lunch time, brunch time, dinner time or anytime the Verandah Italian restaurant inside the Four Seasons is an excellent choice.

Verandah at the Four Seasons Hotel

The Verandah. It sounds so classy, so sophisticated and it is. They serve Afternoon Tea for crying out loud. Of course it’s a classy joint!

Nothing beats a cool cocktail in the afternoon on a scorching hot summer day in Las Vegas. The Verandah had several ways to beat the heat on their specialty cocktail list. The Pineapple Upside-down Martini, Strawberry-Basil Mojito or Watermelon Granita were among our favorites. After cooling down sufficiently it was time to eat. We shared the Crab Cake to start; toasted brioche, charred corn and pepper salad, shaved fennel and micro basil with a grilled scallion aioli. It was quite tasty, although I didn’t understand the point of the brioche. All the other ingredients melded beautifully.

I had the Grilled Salmon Salad as my main; baby spinach, citrus scented portobello, toasted pine nuts and shaved onion finished with a charred peach and goat cheese dressing. Wonderfully delicious but again, I have one ingredient that I question. I felt like the portobello mushroom didn’t belong. It didn’t hurt the dish, but it didn’t add anything either.

One of my friends had the Seafood Mac-n-Cheese; rock shrimp, lobster, blue crab, riccotta cheese and a little white truffle oil. It was rich and delicious. My other dining partner chose the over-the-top VBurger; 8oz Black Angus burger topped with a fried egg, caramelized onions, smoked mozzarella, apple wood smoked bacon, roasted poblano aioli and served with parmesan dusted waffle fries. Why is it the things that are the worst for you taste so damn good?! So we’ll go to the gym an extra day this week. It was worth it.

Put on your best sundress and dust off that wide brim floppy hat that’s collecting dust in the closet and do lunch with your best gal pals at the Verandah and don’t forget the fancy schmancy cocktail. It’s a must.

For something a little different check out their Afternoon Tea. It’s pretty cool, the brunch here is also amazing. Check here for complete menu and details.
