If I were to describe XS Nightclub in one word, it would be: impressive. Before I first decided to check out XS for the first time, I had been to my fair share of clubs. I recall walking into XS and truly being impressed, without having even stepped foot into the outside portion of the club! XS is inside the Wynn Hotel and Casino and is part of the renowned Wynn Social Club which is about as much information you need to know that your night is bound to be an excellent one.
XS is impressive in the sense that it is grand. Many nightclubs around town have multiple floors and rooms and that makes them grand. XS is only two parts: indoor and poolside, but they managed to turn something this basic into a spacious opulence that provides a completely different experience from all other venues. Because of the size of this club, typical nights in this 40,000 square foot gem are pleasant because there is actual space for you to move and dance and navigate the club. However, on nights where there is a big name DJ playing, you can count on the club being completely packed. The line to get in will look endless but it moves fairly quickly. XS is such a large club, it can accommodate an enormous amount of people. Speaking of things that are enormous, the dance floor at XS is among the largest in Las Vegas and it comes in handy for heavily packed nights when you want to get close to the stage which is what actually separates the indoor club section from the gorgeous pool and cabana area outside. During the cold months, there is still access to the outdoor area and you can go to any of the two outdoor bars, one of which is located in the center of the lagoon style pool along with a gambling area. During the summer months, the stage is often reversed so that it faces the pool and XS brings back Sunday Night Swim – a night-time pool party headlined with big name DJs that is very popular among locals and even a few celebrities such as Michael Phelps who was spotted there several times last year.
Most nightclubs try to lure ladies with drink tickets and that is always a great incentive, but I had never known of XS to do that in all the times I frequented XS in the past year. I had always assumed XS didn’t have an open bar because they don’t need that gimmick to prompt a busy night, being one of the most popular nightclubs in Las Vegas. On this particular night though, as I made my way past the Guest List Admission line, an employee stopped me and handed me four complimentary drink passes; two for my friend and two for myself. I thought, “What? Is this real? Since when does XS have open bar for ladies?” It was a pleasant surprise. Then, I noticed the small print on the little drink tickets stating that it was “Good for one drink valued up to $20”. As someone who’s had her fair share of drink tickets handed to her, I was taken by surprise again. Most drink tickets are only good for (a certain brand of) vodka cocktail and/or drink valued at about $14 which is not a lot and is quite limiting, but no need to complain, a free drink is a free drink. Nonetheless, XS’s drink ticket not only gives you more options, it is also valid until 1 am, unlike other places which have open bar only until 11 pm.
Overall, I would recommend any local or tourist looking to have a top-of-the-line nightlife experience to pay a visit to XS. Even electronic music aficionados should head out here because as the event schedule will confirm, XS is always booking the biggest names and DJs in EDM. XS is raging Fridays through Mondays from 10pm until they kick you out at 4am and Industry Nights are on Sundays.
